As a Budtender, you will assist the management team with all retail activities and operations. Responsibilities are very similar to any retail environment, but with a heightened awareness around safety and security in a highly-regulated environment.

You will operate under the highest standards of professionalism. You will be expected to follow all applicable laws and regulations, and all company policies, procedures, and practices as they apply to security, verification, and inventory plans.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary patient service within a cannabis retail operation with the primary purpose of selling high quality cannabis to patients.

  • Assist the management team with the operations and activities of the dispensary

  • Abide by all policies, procedures, and operational guidelines

  • Connect with patients on a personal level, tailor the experience specifically for the individual client

  • Responsible for retail product knowledge

  • Ability to describe which characteristics come from which parent (i.e. taste, smell, look, medical effects).

  • Knowledge of Strains; Sativa, Indica and Hybrids and knowledge of effects of strains.

  • Knowledge of popular and widely known strains (i.e. Girl Scout Cookies)

  • Only recommend products that are appropriate to the patient based on the best information available.

  • Responsible for sales and customer experience by maintaining a tidy, safe, and inviting retail experience  

  • Present a professional physical appearance

  • Ensure sales floor is properly stocked

  • Answer phone and greet patients

  • Promote a positive, patient-service oriented environment

  • Demonstrate compassion and an aptitude to build and maintain personal relationships, with efforts to improve the patient experience

  • Correct cash handling and discount application

  • Assist state and local government auditors and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.

  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently verify patient/primary caregiver status (i.e. license, physician’s recommendation, CA medical card)

  • Facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.

  • Accurate and timely data entry of patient profiles.

  • Experience with or a willingness to learn cannabis point of sale software (i.e. BioTrack THC, MJ Freeway, etc.)

Competency Requirements

  • You are at least 21 years of age

  • Minimum of (2) years sales experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cannabis industry.

  • Must have accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.

  • Must be able to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences

  • You have zero tolerance for non-compliance.

  • You must have no felony convictions or convictions associated with theft or untruthfulness.

  • You must be able to pass all background check requirements.

  • You are trustworthy and hardworking.

  • You have reliable transportation.

  • You can provide at least (2) professional references.



A vendor will be utilized to conduct a background check on all new hires upon acceptance of an offer of employment. Information collected in this application will be verified during the background check process.
