Assistant Retail Center Manager

As Assistant Retail Center Manager, you will be responsible helping to oversee a staff of approximately five people for a store that will be open 7 days a week. Responsibilities are very similar to any retail environment, but with a heightened awareness around safety and security in a highly-regulated environment.

You will operate under the highest standards of professionalism. You will be expected to follow all applicable laws and regulations, and all company policies, procedures, and practices as they apply to security, verification, and inventory plans.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist Managing a retail operation with the primary purpose of selling high quality cannabis to patients.

  • You will be responsible for assisting all activities within the facility, including but not limited to oversight of inventory control system, compliance with local and state laws, reporting into traceability software, training and supervising staff, reconciling cash and credit card transactions at the end of each shift, supplies ordered, day to day marketing, and overall cleanliness of the facility.

  • Developing and supporting a management reporting process that recaps daily activity, opportunities for improvement, risk management, and providing a project plan addressing sales opportunities.

  • Responsible for increasing the daily count through community outreach efforts, both in person and via social media

  • Be cognizant of your role as representing the community on behalf of the company

  • Execute preventative maintenance and safety programs for staff and visitors

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Demonstrate compassion and an aptitude to build and maintain personal relationships, with efforts to improve the patient experience

  • Knowledge of Strains; Sativa, Indica and Hybrids and knowledge of effects of strains.

  • Assist state and local government auditors and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.

  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently confirm patient/primary caregiver status (i.e. read a license)

  • Scheduling, facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.

  • Responsible for assistant management of the budget, and continuously looking for ways to improve the bottom line.

  • Responsible for working with the marketing team, implementing branding and packaging decisions

  • Experience with or a willingness to learn cannabis Track & Trace software (i.e. BioTrack THC, MJ Freeway, etc.)

  • Present a professional physical appearance

Competency Requirements

  • You are at least 21 years of age

  • Business Degree preferred

  • Minimum of (2) years experience in a retail setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cannabis industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of retail management procedures.

  • Must have accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.

  • You have zero tolerance for non-compliance.

  • You must have no felony convictions or convictions associated with theft or untruthfulness.

  • You must be able to pass all background check requirements.

  • You are trustworthy and hardworking.

  • You have reliable transportation.

  • You can provide at least (2) professional references.



A vendor will be utilized to conduct a background check on all new hires upon acceptance of an offer of employment. Information collected in this application will be verified during the background check process.
